Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
The group has been formed to realize the calling of forming an association of Filipinos living in the Nordic Region. The past decade, the Scandinavian countries have started to recruit Filipino Nurses to fill the gap of nursing shortages in the region. As per evidence-based, Philippines is the top producer of nurses to work abroad and Filipino Nurses are starting to explore other countries to migrate and work as a Nurse. However, we consider ourselves as minority, meaning we are less represented in the region in terms of decision making, develop ourselves as professionals and lack of support system. Several people have been contacted in the Nordic Region including directors and only few people responded and are willing to listen and help. This implies indeed a lack of support from the higher authorities.
The Filipino Nurses believe that Nordic Region is a good place to grow and develop nursing competencies and to establish our association.
